Write: Tanasha [2011-05-20]

According to the public notice released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the evening of the 15th, since the occurrence of the severe earthquake and the resulting nuclear power plant accident in northeastern Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Ambassador in Japan have been sparing no effort to help the affected Chinese citizens in Japan. In consideration of the personal safety of the Chinese citizens, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising Chinese citizens against going to the disaster areas in Japan.

Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Consulate-General of China in Japan and Niigata are taking all possible measures to help the Chinese citizens held up in the disaster areas to evacuate in a well-organized manner. The Consulate General of China in Japan and in Niigata have arranged for buses to head for Miyagi Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture, Ibaraki Prefecture and Iwate Prefecture to pick up the Chinese citizens there.

And for those who choose to go back to China, the Consulate-General will go all-out to send them to Narita Airport and Niigata Airport and assist in the arrangement of flights.
