Zhejiang NPC deputies attending the 4th Session of the 11th National People s Congress came back to Hangzhou by air this afternoon after successfully accomplishing the mission of the session. Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People s Congress Xu Hongjun met them at the airport.
At this session, Zhejiang NPC deputies listened to and deliberated the work report delivered by Premier Wen Jiabao and the draft of the 12th Five-Year Plan for National Economy and Social Development and other reports and resolutions. They also submitted a batch of motions, proposals and suggestions which were feasible, insightful and of high quality, among which 78 proposals were placed into the agenda of the session by the presidium of the NPC. Up till yesterday, the provincial delegates put forward 478 proposals, 39 pieces more than last year. These proposals and suggestions, covering the areas of economy, politics, culture, society and ecology, represented hot and knotty issues that people were concerned about and also fully displayed their enthusiasm and strong sense of responsibility by aiming at scientific development and the improvement of people s livelihood.
