Recently, several cases of forest fire broke out in Zhejiang Province, causing damages to properties of the country, collectives and the people at large. Zhao Hongzhu, Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People s Congress, Lv Zushan, Vice Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Governor, Xia Baolong, Vice Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, have given instructions respectively that protecting the forest against fires should be regarded as a task of primary importance as the Qingming Festival approaches, and that Party Committees, governments and relevant departments at all levels should work on the forest fire protection in a practical way in order to ensure safety of people s life and property as well as the social stability.
Today, Forest Fire Control Headquarters of the Provincial Government issued an urgent notice, calling on all parts of the province to implement seriously the instructions from leaders of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and the provincial government, to strengthen the awareness of responsibility further, carry out the precautions, send more personnel for inspection, take strict control of outdoor fire sources, conduct thorough investigations into fire cases, and bring forest fires under control.
