Zhejiang plans to establish access mechanism at farm produce markets in the whole province, monitor and control in real time the conditions of supply and demand and the prices of farm produce, and ensure the supplies, prices and security of the produce markets throughout the province.
The People s Government of Zhejiang Province held the conference on farm produce market work in the province in Hangzhou on April 1. According to the conference, the farm produce market development plan will be re-formulated in Zhejiang Province. It was proposed that the ownership of produce markets be retained by the government, that the produce markets be incorporated into the evaluation of the target responsibility system of governments of all levels, and that ensuring supplies, prices and security be the new target of the upgrade and development of farm produce markets of the whole province, all of which will, hopefully, assure the people in Zhejiang of reasonable food prices and safety.
