On the afternoon of March 30, Zhao Hongzhu, Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People s Congress, met with Cai Guanshen, President of Hongkong Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and his delegation.
Present at the meeting were provincial leaders including Li Qiang, Gong Zheng, Xu Guanju, Tang Lilu and so on.
Zhao Hongzhu offered a welcome to a second visit of Cai Guanshen and his delegation, and introduced the general information about recent economic and social development in Zhejiang. He said that for Zhejiang Province, Hong Kong has been an important window of opening to the outside world as well as an important platform of attracting foreign businesses and investments.
As one of the oldest and largest business chambers in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Chinese Chamber of Commerce has been playing a unique role in pushing mainland s foreign trade and promoting investments from overseas Chinese businessmen, serving as a link between the mainland and Hong Kong in their economic and trade exchanges.
Zhejiang Province begins the Twelfth Five-Year Plan this year, and starts the construction of the Zhejiang Ocean Economic Development Demonstration Zone as well. More enterprises from Hong Kong are cordially welcomed to be involved in it, sharing the opportunities and seeking mutual development. He expressed hopes that Hong Kong Chinese Chamber of Commerce will make new contributions to the deepening of cooperation and the seeking of mutual development between Zhejiang and Hong Kong by acting as a go-between as before.
