The First Geological Exploration Team of Zhejiang Province discovered a super large scandium (Sc) polymetallic deposit in northwestern Zhejiang, with initially proven reserves of over 70 tons of scandium resources worth approximately 70 billion yuan, learned the reporter from the provincial Bureau of Geological Survey on the afternoon of March 29.
Associated with the verified Sc polymetallic deposit was a large silver polymetallic deposit with 800 tons of silver and 0.13 million tons of lead and zinc, and a large deposit with 3000 tons of cadmium. In addition, some medium-sized deposits were also discovered, with 7000 tons of tin, 400 tons of gallium, and 5.5 tons of rhenium. It was the first time that a super large Sc deposit had been discovered in our province, and that such large reserves of precious metals, nonferrous metals and rare metals had ever been discovered in the same mine.
