Zifeng Tower, World s 7th Tallest Building Completed and Put into Use in Nanjing

Completion and Lighting Ceremony for Zifeng Tower, the 7th tallest building in the world and the tallest in Jiangsu was held in Nanjing on the evening of December 18th. The is the second tallest building in mainland China, second to Shanghai World Financial Center. Therefore, there are 6 architectures ranking among World Top 10 tallest in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.

Zifeng Tower is invested by Shanghai Greenland Group and designed by famous SOM Design of USA according to world class standards. It is located in the heart of central Nanjing, Gulou Square. Its construction area is over 300,000 square meters and height is 450m. it is a super-tall urban complex integrating a super five-star Intercontinental Hotel, A-Class Office buildings and a high-class shopping mall.

At the ceremony on 18th, attendees saw a golden dragon leaped up rapidly from the bottom of the building to the top with the laser radiation. When the dragon rose to the top of the tower, colorful laser beams gleamed resplendently, illuminating the sky of Nanjing.

Zhang Yuliang, chairman and president of Greenland said that, the competition and put-into-use of Zifeng Tower is an important action to enhance urban construction level and industrial structure and facilitate the friendly communication between Shanghai and Jiangsu. It is also a phased result of speeding up development of modern service industry and building high-end service industry cluster for the city, required by the central government.

Zifeng Tower is the 7th tallest building in the world, coming after Dubai s Burj Khalifa Tower, World Trade Center of New York, Taipei 101, Shanghai World Financial Center, Twin Tower of Kuala Lumper, Chicago Sears Tower; and the 2nd tallest in mainland China. Therefore, there are 6 architectures ranking among World Top 10 tallest in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.
