Flagship Compamies Lead Devt

As a key economic development zone in south Xinjiang, Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone enhances its competitiveness and fully exerts the leading role in the new type industrialization of Bayangol Prefecture.

Presently the 2nd-phase 200,000-ton viscose staple fiber project of Xinjiang Fulida Fiber Co., Ltd is under construction in the zone. Upon the completion, it can produce 300,000-ton viscose staple fiber annually, ranking No.1 nationwide.

During the 12th 5-year plan period, Bayangol Prefecture will give big support to Fulida, Taichang and other flagship enterprises to use local cotton to build the nation's largest production base of viscose staple fiber and Xinjiang's key cotton processing base.

Now 410 companies have settled down in Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone, involving 6 areas, such as oil and petrochemical, textile and fiber and agricultural byproducts processing. The total production value of the zone reached 8.65 billion yuan in 2010.
