The Yulin Week of Shaanxi Pavilion at Shanghai Expo, sponsored by Shaanxi Expo Office and Yulin Municipal Government, was started on July 16. The Nine-day event will highlight the history, culture and folk customs of Yulin City.
At 11 a.m., the Opening Ceremony of Yulin Week began with the splendid waist drum performance with Shanbei feature. Governmental Officials from Yulin, Shaanxi and Shanghai attended the opening ceremony. The performances by Yulin Suide Yellow Earth Art Group were warmly welcomed by the audience. Passionate yangge, sonorous xintianyou and graceful paper-cut were really a feast for the eyes of the visitors. The Shaanxi Pavilion received over 100 thousand people on that day. It is learnt that, the song and dance performance and folk craft show by Yulin will continue until the 25th of July.
