China and Japan Jointly Record Large-scale Documentary Visit to Ancient City Xi an

Currently, a team comprising of staff from Wuzhou Promotion Center of News Office of State Council, Japan TV Creation Co., Ltd and Japan BSA Chaori TV Station is recording large-scaled documentary Trip to Xi an of China in the Eyes of Stars series. The documentary will introduce the history of Xi an in Tang Dynasty and its new look at present in 120 minutes.

Xi an is not strange for Japan, and is even familiar for them. I hope to introduce the ancient city Xi an as capital city of Tang Dynasty and the international metropolis Xi an through the documentary, said Zhong Zexin, director of the documentary to the reporter.

Zhong Zexin introduced that the shooting team arrived in Xi an on Aug. 12. It will use 10 times to visit 20 places of interests and scenic spots in Xi an, including the City Wall, Huaqing Pool, Big Goose Tower, Tomb of Concubine Yang, Sites of Daming Palace, Qianling, Famen Temple, Furong Park and Xingqing Palace.

Every Japanese knows about ancient Chang an city. We select an aspect of the history to introduce for China and Japan have deep relationships in many aspects such as construction, art and words, said him.

Xi an is a city that combines ancient and modernized features, said Zhong Zexin. He once thought that Xi an is a remote and less-developed city. It is surprising that Xi an has become a modern city. He once believed that there were only terracotta armies in Xi an. It is out of expectation that there are so many cultural heritages in Xi an.

Trip in Xi an invited famous Japanese actress Norika Fujiwara as the chairperson. With respect to this trip, Norika Fujiwara, who had visited Xi an for the first time, indicated that she is full of expectations. According to the shooting plans, she will wander on the streets of Xi an, climbed to ancient city wall of Xi an with long and splendid history, visited Xi an Steles Forest, came to Dacien Temple, enjoyed dance of Tang Dynasty, visited Daming Palace National Site Park and Xingqing Park, tasted banquet of Tang Dynasty .

She will introduce what she heard and listened to Japanese audiences through the documentary.

When accepting the interview of report of Xinhua News Agency, Norika Fujiwara said that Xi an is a city that attached great importance to history. She is longing for history of Tang Dynasty, in particular, the stories of Concubine Yang.

The second stop of Norika Fujiwara in Xi an is Huaqing Pool where Concubine Yang once bathed in it. She said that every Japanese person knows that Concubine Yang is a Chinese beauty, and she is a riddle. With the shooting, she wants to have deeper understandings on the beautiful and wise women.

I am glad to know history of China through this opportunity. When I touch the stone of Huaqing Pool, I felt that the 1300 years of history is close to me, said her.

After completion, the documentary Trip to Xi an will be broadcasted at BS Chaori TV Station in gold time, allowing Japanese audiences to know the ancient city Xi an following steps of Norika Fujiwara.

Since 2006, Wuzhou Promotion Center had partnered with Japan TV Creation Co., Ltd and Japan BS Chaori TV Station to shoot China in Eyes of Stars series of documentary, and shot four large-scaled documentaries, i.e. Stories of the Forbidden City, Tea and Horse Ancient Road, Trip to Guilin and Trip to Shanghai.

The series of documentaries invite popular film actresses of Japan has the chairman to introduce the charms of Chinese cultural from multiple directions and angles. After shooting, they will be broadcasted at Japan BS Chaori TV Station in golden time and have been well received by Japanese audiences.
