Li Guoliang meets with Finnish Consul General to Guangzhou

Vice Governor Li Guoliang met with Finnish Consul General to Guangzhou Eero Suominen in Haikou on the afternoon of June 9, 2010. The two sides exchanged views on closer inter-governmental contacts and deeper cooperation in the fields of high and new technology, environmental protection science and technology.

This was Eero Suominen's first visit to Hainan after he took office as Finnish Consul General to Guangzhou in September, 2009. Eero Suominen said Finland has well developed its environmental protection industry and ship-building industry. He hoped that Finland and Hainan will strengthen cooperation in the above fields.

Hainan is now making every effort to develop the province into one of global top island resorts. Li Guoliang said. He invited Finnish business groups to visit Hainan, adding that Hainan provincial government would render full support to enterprises of both sides to carry out exchanges and cooperation projects.

Hainan Provincial FAO Deputy Director-General Zhou Gangzhan attended the meeting.
