Israeli President Shimon Peres on October 24 met in Jerusalem with Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua on enhancing economic and technological cooperation.

Peres, mentioning the ongoing economic transformation and development in Guangdong, spoke highly of Guangdong's energetic economy. Peres said that the evolution of the artificial intelligence, the expansion of the scientists group and emphasis on brainpower resources are the three main trends of the current technological development in the world.

Huang told Peres that Israel's technological innovation capacity and local demand is a good match for markets in Guangdong. Huang encouraged enhanced cooperation between the two regions especially in the high-tech industry, trade and investment, culture and education, and tourism.

According to the governor, the trade volume between Guangdong and Israel was 1.38 billion USD in 2009, more than a quarter of the Sino-Israeli trade as a whole.
