"A bird learns to fly" is the Fetion name of Huang Sige, a nineteen -year-old Guangdong girl who was deprived of the ability to stand up after contracting poliomyelitis when she was eight months old.

On the first day of the Guangzhou Asian Para Games, Huang, in her wheelchair, after a 45 minute journey, came to the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center. "I just want to feel athletes' self-reliance and perseverance," said Huang who prepared for the Asian Games since she was young. "It was a pity that there as no wheelchair table tennis," said Huang, who plays every week.

Huang, who is now a student in Guangdong Peiyin Technical School, takes care of herself with the school's and city s barrier-free facilities. "I took the metro for the first time to watch a 3D movie and on the weekends I go shopping," smiled Huang. "If I didn't wait my classmate today, I can get here in less than 45 minutes, added Huang.

Huang told reporters last week that she plans to major in administrative management as her minor subject. "It was their fortitudinous and perseverance that made the athletes compete in the Asian Games and I should learn from them rather than being satisfied with keeping myself fed," said and inspired Huang.
