The annual Spring Festival Travel Peak begins on January 19th this year. Similar to previous years, all passengers traveling during this period shall have to present a valid ID card when purchasing a ticket. The passenger's name will then be inscribed on the ticket and their identity may be checked onboard the train.

This regulation now also applies to the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed trains and ticket offices shall only sell 3 tickets to each person in order to combat scalping. Tickets for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen express train, the Guangzhou-Kowloon express train and the Guangzhou-Zhuhai intercity express will not apply this real-name policy.
