A flower fair is underway on the banks of the riverlets in Liwan District to herald the new spring. The flower fair, featuring local themes, accentuates the Lizhiwan Riverlet's enchanting landscape with some 30,000 flower pots arranged along the banks of the stream. The fair is staged at the following major locations:

The entrance to the Lizhiwan scenic spot. Poinsettias and pink hennas are set around the rock bearing an inscription of "Lizhiwan" at the entrance to the scenic spot. Seasonal flowers, such as peach flowers, poinsettias and pink hennas, are set at the square. And three peach trees are decorated with traditional Chinese Lunar New Year ornaments, such as red packets, miniature lanterns, and Chinese knots.

Around the Wen Tower. Poinsettias and coleuses are arranged around the foot of the tower, enhancing the visual appeal of the tower. And seasonal flowers, such as petunias and poinsettias, are placed on the steps facing each side of the tower, adding charms to the tower.

In front of the Liwan Museum. The flower pots are arranged in a pattern that resembles a blooming flower when seen from a distance and a characteristic Chinese copper coin when viewed close up, symbolizing serenity and prosperity.

The square in front of Jiang Guangnai's former residence. Manchurian windows typical of the Xiguan House and traditional Chinese elements are on display, showcasing rich local cultural heritage.

The south gate square of the Liwan Lake Park. A circular flowerbed is set at the square, with flowers arranged in the shape of a rabbit in the center. The flowerbed consists of several fan-shaped sections.

According to Liwan district officials, the flower fair will run through the Lantern Festival and may be "kept open until the flowers wither."
