The first operational section of the Guangzhou-Foshan Subway is to be opened on November 3. It takes about 40 minutes for a single trip from Kuiqi Lu in Foshan to Xilang in Guangzhou, and the tickets cost is just 6 yuan each.

On October 28 and 29, Guangzhou-Foshan Subway will be open to all citizens for a test ride. To mark the occasion, some 60,000 to 100,000 free tickets will be distributed to citizens in Guangzhou and Foshan. During the Asian Games and Asian Para Games, the Guangzhou-Foshan Subway will be open to passengers for free during the 30 day period of police traffic control.

Guangzhou-Foshan Subway is the first rapid underground rail transit line between cities in China, and also the first subway line of Foshan city. The subway is 32.2 kilometres long extends from Kuiqi Lu in Foshan city in the west to Lijiao in Guangzhou in the east. There are all together 21 stations set up along the line, among which six are in Chancheng District in Foshan, five in the Nanhai District in Foshan, five in the Liwan District in Guangzhou, and another five in Zhuhai District. After the completion of the subway, nine stations can realise traffic exchange with the rail transit in Guangzhou and Foshan.
