The Qingming Festival or Tomb-Sweeping Day is coming on April 5. In Dongguan, about 150 thousand people are forecast to come to Dongguan Funeral Home to sweep the tombs of their beloved during the Qingming Festival holiday (April 3rd, 4th, and 5th).

As one of the 24 solar terms of the Chinese lunar calendar, Qingming, which falls on April 5 this year, has been celebrated by the Chinese for more than 2,500 years. People usually go to sweep tombs and mourn for the dead on this day. Drinks, food and "ghost money" play money to be used in the afterlife will also be brought to tombs as sacrificial offerings.

The weather forecast said it will be cloudy these days despite a weak cold snap will arrive in the area in the evening of April 3rd. However, the temperature will go up again as of April 5th.

Shima Revolutionary Martyr Monument in Zhangmutou township is built in memorial for 5 PLA soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the state property in a flooding 54 years ago.
