Political Bureau member of the Central Committee of the CPC and secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee Wang Yang announced the opening of the thirteenth Guangdong Province Games. Honorary president of the thirteenth Guangdong Province Games Organizing Committee, deputy secretary of Provincial Party Committee and governor Huang Huahua delivered an opening speech. The opening ceremony was chaired by director of the thirteenth Provincial Games Organizing Committee and vice governor Lin Musheng. Deputy director of the thirteenth Guangdong Province Games Organizing Committee, deputy secretary of Huizhou Municipal Party Committee and mayor Li Yuqiu delivered a welcoming speech.
The opening ceremony started at 20:00. Accompanied by Sportsmen March, the guard of honor, 21 participating delegations and referees entered the main venue for the opening ceremony. Accompanied by the majestic national anthem of the People's Republic of China, the national flag of the People's Republic of China rose up slowly.
Under the correct leadership of the provincial party committee and government, with "First-class venues and facilities, first-class organization and services, first-class competition results, first-class city image" as the standard, in accordance with the requirements of "scientific, safe and economical hosting the Games", Huizhou City brought the power of the entire city, gather the wisdom of all the citizens, did everything possible to carry out various service work for the Provincial Games, and spared no effort to host a high-level unique sports event, to deliver a good report to the provincial party committee and government and the people of the province.
After the opening ceremony, a large-scale artistic show "Pleasant wind of Huizhou" was performed.
The thirteenth Guangdong Province Games sets 27 major items, 33 sub-items and 617 minor items, will award 714 gold medals.21 above-the-prefectural-level city delegations and more than 7,000 athletes participate in the Games.
