On October 10th, a grand signing ceremony for cooperation agreement and Official Launch of the joint training center between Confucius Institute of Suez Canal University and China-Egypt economic and trade co-operation zone was held in Suez economic and trade co-operation zone, Gulf of Suez, Egypt. The ceremony was attended by Ahmed Amen, President of northwestern SEZ in Suez Gulf, Egypt; Wang Shupei, Director from Tianjin Commerce Commission; Mostafa, vice president of northwestern SEZ in Suez Gulf, Egypt; Feng Zhaoyi, chairman of Suez economic and trade co-operation zone; Qiao Xiuquan of Tianjin State-owned Assets Supervision Commission; abdelrahim ibrahim, dean of Confucius Institute of Suez Canal University of Our university in Egypt; Wu Yanjun, Confucius Institute of Suez Canal University of Our university in China.
The aim of the launch of joint training center between the two parties is to develop high-quality talents through providing trainings on public Chinese, professional Chinese, Chinese culture and so on for Egyptian workers in China-Egypt economic and trade co-operation zone. Meanwhile, economic and trade co-operation zone will also act as the practice base for Confucius Institute in Suez Canal University, giving students from Confucius Institute the priority to Chinese language practice and job opportunities. Besides, outstanding students will be recommended by Confucius Institute to work in China-Egypt economic and trade co-operation zone according to enterprises needs.
China-Egypt economic and trade co-operation zone, which is built by Tianjin TEDA Investment Holdings Limited, is jointly initiated and founded by Chinese and Egyptian government. It is located in Suez economic and trade co-operation zone of Suez gulf, covering a total planning area of seven square kms. and 130 miles away from Confucius Institute of Suez Canal University in the city of Ismailia. Currently, the number of the enterprises in the zone has reached nearly 30, with over 1000 Egyptian workers and 100 Chinese workers. Six industries, namely Petroleum equipment, textile and garment, automotive mount, electrical equipment, new materials and fine chemical have already been formed.
The first launch of the joint training center by Confucius Institute in Suez Canal University of in enterprises-concentrated area is a bold venture for further international promotion for Chinese language & culture, and exploration of the educational pattern combining both study and practice, which will effectively push forward the cooperation in education, science & technology, and economic & trade between China and Egypt.
