On August 20th, the Third Kexinnenghuan cup National Energy-Saving and Ejection-Decreasing Competition for College Students came to a successful conclusion in the stadium of the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). NCEPU students have won 4 first prizes, 1 second prize and 5 third prizes. It is the first time NCEPU has won the first prize in this competition in which it reached a higher stage of development both in prize numbers and levels. In the meantime, NCEPU is conferred the Best Delegation Prize on account of the high quality works submitted by NCEPU organizing committee after careful organization and strict selection.
The National Energy-Saving and Ejection-Decreasing Competition for College Students is a comprehensive discipline competition among all national universities with guiding, exemplary and mass character, which thoroughly applies the spirit of The Notification Regarding the Energy-Saving and Ejection-Decreasing Program Issued by the State Council( issued by State Council [2007] No.15). Sponsored by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, themed with Energy-Saving and Ejection-Decreasing, Green Energy , closely related to the national energy and environment policy, the competition aims to encourage students to promote surveys and scientific innovations concerning material and energy saving.
In this competition, a total of 232 universities including all 9-8-5 project universities and 22 universities from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan areas submit their works. Though altogether 1,868 pieces of works from more than 15 thousand university students are received, only 136 pieces of works became the entries after the qualification examination, internet-based evaluation and meeting-based evaluation. In the end, 8 special prizes, 32 first prizes, 95 second prizes and 294 third prizes are appraised.
After getting excellent achievements in the first and second National Energy-Saving and Ejection-Decreasing Competition for College Students, NCEPU students continue their better performances in the third, which fully manifests NCEPU s emphasis on the cultivation of students scientific innovation and practical ability, and reveals NCEPU students innovative spirit as well as their contribution to the establishment of energy-saving and environment protection society.
