About the Assembly
The development of computer applications and related new technologies is a new turning point for the preservation of cultural relics and the development of archaeology. The use of digital technology, computer graphics, virtual reality, and other information technologies is playing an important role in the preservation of cultural relics. The CAA Annual Meeting is the high-level gathering on the use of international computer technology in archaeology. The 39th meeting is to be held in Asia with the theme, Revive the Past. For this session, papers have been solicited from experts, scholars, students, and researchers in related fields. Topics include (but are not limited to): bio-archaeology, archeology and anthropology, digital modeling technologies, the digitization of ancient documents, using information technology for the preservation of cultural relics, and virtual reality technologies. To warm response from international scholars in related fields, over 100 papers have already been received for review by experts.
The 39th CAA annual meeting seeks to supply a platform for exchanges between scholars in archaeology, the preservation of cultural relics, mathematics, information technology, museum studies, architecture, and the fine arts. CAA emphasizes expanding the academic perspectives of experts and scholars and promoting the exchange of findings. It also seeks to stimulate enthusiasm for professional research, and it advances a sense of duty and responsibility toward the long-term development of archaeology-focused and other research. Organizers will arrange visits to the National Palace Museum, the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, and other cultural treasure sites, so as to better present to the world the profound and long history of China s culture and great spirit.
