The two sides had a discussion on gender dominance, guidance on gender in media, media staff training, gender supervision and some other problems. Both sides agreed that media could shape public opinions and influence people s perception. Media s social gender mainstreaming could improve media institution s gender image and motivate female s participation in media. By mainstreaming social media gender, the diverse roles of male and female in society can be exactly and truly reflected and gender stereotype in current society can be eliminated and gender equality can be achieved. Broadcasting and television department should set a series of effective guidelines, and strengthen the training for media staffs about gender consciousness, and at the same time, supervise media organization, activities and contents.
During the talk, Professor Liu Liqun introduced the research information about UNESCO Media and Female chair of CUC to the guests, and Natalia Ilieva expressed her wish to cooperate and communicate with the Chair.
