Outstanding Teachers, Researchers Honored at Ceremony

A number of outstanding Tsinghua teachers and researchers were honored at a ceremony in the Main Building April 20 to commend teaching and research excellence in 2005.

Attending the event were Tsinghua President Gu Binglin, Chairman of University Council Chen Xi, senior administrators Zhuang Lijun and Zhang Zaixing, Vice President Cen Zhangzhi, Vice President Kang Kejun, Vice President Zhang Fengchang and Vice President Xie Weihe.

President Gu congratulated the honorees and stressed the importance of talent cultivation and innovation.

The recognition went to the 10 elite courses of 2005, outstanding Ph.D dissertation supervisors of 2005, 19 recipients of the National Teaching Achievement Awards, and 10 recipients of the State Science and Technology Awards.
