Keynote Speaker in 2009 Beijing Forum: Nobel Laureate in Economics Kenneth J. Arrow

Beijing Forum Secretariat, Beijing, Oct. 23, 2009: The Sixth Annual Beijing Forum 2009 Beijing Forum will hold its opening ceremony on November 6th at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Beijing Forum is an international academic conference with the longest duration, biggest scale and widest influence ever sponsored by Peking University.It endeavors to promote academic development and social progress across the world and also enhance the academia influence of Peking University's academic.

The keynote speeches of Beijing Forum have fully demonstrated its academic proficiency and convey core academic viewpoints. Keynote speakers who have been invited by the organizing committee are all internationally top scholars. The four keynote speakers of the forthcoming 2009 Beijing Forum are: Kenneth J. Arrow, Nobel Laureate in Economics, Professor Emeritus of Stanford University, Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; Seyyed H. Nasr, Professor of Islamic Studies of George Washington University, President of the Foundation for Traditional Studies; Peter J. Katzenstein, Professor of Cornell University, President of the American Political Science Association, Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; and Professor Zhou Qiren, Dean of National School of Development and Director of China Center for Economic Research, Peking University. They all come from different cultural background and will explore this year s theme The Harmony Civilizations and Prosperity for All Looking beyond the Crisis to a Harmonious Future from economic, philosophical and international relations perspectives.
