Prof. Shi Yuguang wins Ramanujan Prize

Peking University, Mar. 19, 2011: Professor Shi Yuguang from School of Mathematical Science, Peking University, won the Ramanujan Prize of 2010 recently. The prize, in honor of Professor Shi Yuguang s outstanding achievements in the geometry of Complete (Non-Compact) Riemannian Manifolds, was bestowed by ICTP (the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics). It s also regarded as a praise for his 15-year-long mathematical teaching and research in China.

The Ramanujan Prize is created for a researcher less than 45 years of age from a developing country with a US$15,000 award. Five outstanding mathematicians constitute a selection committee. And they are appointed by ICTP and IMU (International Mathematical Union).
