President's entourage included cabinet members, such as minister of Foreign Affairs, minister of Planning & Development, minister of Energy & Mines, Venezuelan ambassador to China, and over 40 enterprisers. Liu
Hanyuan, president of Tongwei, Wang Gongrong, vice president of Tongwei, Zhang
Guokun, assistant president, Jiang Tianming, general manager of Aquatic Science & Technology Co. and Zhang Kai, vice director of Sichuan aquiculture bureau, etc. warmly welcomed the distinguished guests.

Amiable and approachable as he is, President Chavez shook hands and embraced with Liu Hanyuan with warm smiles, as soon as he got off his car. Accompanied by governor Zhang Zhongwei and president Liu, Chavez and his entourage first visited the modern fish farming workshop of Aquatic Science & Technology Co. Mr. Liu briefed the guests on the scale, investment, advanced technology and equipment etc. of the workshop. Chavez was deeply impressed by intense but orderly work and a hundred of standard pounds for experiment standing orderly in the workshop. He put his hands on the edge of the pound and constantly asked Mr. Liu about the names of fishes bred in the pounds, about how they are growing and their aquiculture future etc. Seeing the swimming fine breeds, like Russian Sturgeon, Large-mouth catfish, puffer etc. in the pound, Chavez inquired Mr. Liu about their characteristics, market price, breeding cost etc. with his hand slightly stirring the water, which made the emerging fish groups escape to the bottom of the pound. At the introduction to pet fish, Chavez nodded constantly and took notes while listening. He also turned round, asking his cabinet members to pay special attention to this. While showing the outdoor pounds for experiment, Mr. Liu also made a detailed introduction to
Tongwei's thinking on aquiculture scientific research, experiments and the future development of Aquatic Science & Technology Co.

Chavez was greatly interested in Tongwei's achievements in aquiculture. During his visit, he constantly shook hands and embraced with Mr. Liu. He sang high praise of
Tongwei's achievements and its future development. He earnestly invited Mr. Liu to Venezuela to invest and develop. He also inquired planning of Tongwei Aquatic Science & Technology Co. (under construction), its fish gene-conversion Lab, Aquiculture Museum, co-existing system of pet fish and flowers etc. At interval of the visit, Chavez became greatly moved when he caught sight of the large banner hung on the roof with Long Live the Cooperation and Friendship between People of Our Two Countries on it.. Nodding and shaking hands with Mr. Liu, he showed his confidence in the future cooperation with
Tongwei. Then Chavez and his entourage went into meeting room to watch slides for Aquatic Science & Technology Co. and Tongwei Group. Talk between the two sides on possible cooperating items and steps lasted for 40 minutes.

The visiting hour was lengthened several times and exceeded the original fixed time about 40 minutes. Around 20 past 5 p.m., Chavez shook hands with Mr. Liu at parting. His visit to Tongwei ended successfully. President and his entourage made the special trip to Tongwei after they had visited Sichuan Agriculture Science Institute and so on. This visit to Tongwei was of great importance for Chavez to take advantage of foreign investment and Venezuelan abundant water resources to develop aquiculture. In his visit he expressed their strong will of cooperating with Chinese businesses.
