Chairman Liang Wengen Meets Prime Minister Odinga of Kenya

Sany Chairman Liang Wengen met with the His Excellency Prime Minister Odinga of Kenya on May 18, 2009 in Kenya.
The Chairman briefed the Prime Minister on Sany and its operations and development in Kenya. Over the past three years, Sany has sold over 160 construction machineries in Kenya; it not only has established a very friendly partnership with local customers in the private sector, but also has become a major supplier of equipments for the Kenyan Ministry of Road Affairs and the Bureau of Port Affairs. Sany has headquartered its newly set up East African Company in Kenya and has built a store house and administrative center there already.
An agricultural country with a yet to be developed industrial base, Kenya's road construction and public housing are in urgent need of upgrading. The Kenyan Government warmly welcomed the Sany Delegation headed by Chairman Liang Wengen. In the interview that lasted for more than one hour, the two sides reached an initial framework on cooperation. The Prime Minister hoped that Sany invest and set up a manufacturing centre in Kenya and kindly offered to give all possible conveniences and support for this move.
At an invitation by the Minister of Road Affairs Mr Franklin, Mr Liang visited Kenya's Ministry of Road Affairs and an equipment services workshop. The Chairman said Sany will help the Kenyan Government put in place a more powerful and more modernized services workshop.
Counsellor Zhou Jianping of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya attended the interview. He commented that the meeting between Mr Liang Wengen and Prime Minister Odinga will greatly strengthen the economic ties between the two countries and speed up the building of Kenya's basic infrastructure.
