October 5, 2009 witnessed the history-making moment at which Sany's plant in India, with its crew of more than 200 people, was officially moved to its new building in Chakan Industrial Park in Pune. Sany's plant in India is the first officially launched overseas plant of Sany. The moving sets a new milestone of Sany's internationalization as well as a stepping stone for Sany's future development.
In 2007, Sany Heavy Industry granted 60 million USD for constructing its R&D and manufacturing base in Pune. This was its first plan for oversea development, which was stunning by any standards. It took more than two years for the R&D and manufacturing base in Pune to take shape. By far, the base has been expanded to greater than 30,000 square meters, and the crew of the base has grown to more than 580, over 80% of whom are Indians. Now the base is capable of manufacturing concrete machinery locally in India.
Mr. Liang Dong, general manager of Sany India subsidiary, claimed that Sany's R&D and manufacturing base in Pune would grow up to a comprehensive platform that integrates various functions such as R&D, manufacturing, sales, renting, service, storage, logistics, and office. Sany has sold more than 2,000 pieces of concrete machinery in India, embracing superior name recognition and high market penetration in the concrete machinery sector of the country.
