The holidays for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day are coming. At many scenic sports in Dalian, some new attractions and shows, many of which will be offered for the first time, are in preparation in order to make a happy holiday season for citizens and tourists.

The Pole-Aquarium
The whale shark, a gentle big eater", will make a debut; it came and settled down in Dalian in June, 2009 and for the first time showed up in an aquarium in China after being seen in the Osaka Aquarium, Japan's Okinawa Aquarium and Atlanta Aquarium. Within a large water tank of 18 meters in diameter, the 4.5-meter long whale shark, occupying nearly one-third of the water surface, opens its one-meter-in-diameter giant mouth and gulps down, with water pouring out of its two gills and creating a huge vacuum suction, hundreds of shrimp at a mouthful. The spectacular scenes of a whale shark s eating will be presented to tourists during the golden week of the two festivals.
Dalian Discoveryland Theme Park
Free of charge for one lucky couple every day: With a Rosy Month for Lovers as the theme, the park will organize a series of Speak Out Your Love activities. Through registration on the park s official website, a lucky couple will be selected every day for a month for a free-of-charge visit and participation in the world-class floats parade; they will also make their vow of the greatest love in front of the public. The Autumn Harvest Carnival is another group of activities, with magic colors of medieval European castles, the lovely pumpkin wizards, a symbol of the harvest pumpkin carriage, Halloween parade of the " Kingdom of Festival" and a large magic interactive show "Magic Halloween" ...

L shun Snake Museum
Four breeds of rare pythons will be on display: L shun Snake Museum, the world's largest one of its kind, has introduced from abroad four breeds of pythons which are extremely rare in the world. They are an emerald boa living in the Amazon River, a Brazilian rainbow boa, green water pythons and a rubber boa living in a small pocket of Liberia in Western Africa. Green water pythons are the largest snakes in the world, growing to 12 meters long after reaching adulthood. To satisfy the visitors curiosity, the museum will exhibit hundreds of other precious snakes and many rare breeds of crocodiles, lizards and a 300-year-old tortoise as well as other reptiles. Inside the museum, known as a popular science paradise , visitors will also have the chance to have intimate touch with some animals.

Dalian Sun Asia Ocean World
A Kung Fu Walrus Show has a new version in Dalian Sun Asia Ocean World. The Polar Castle was renovated as a stage for the Avenue of Stars"; once you make your entrance into it, you ll be met with a huge poster which will immediately introduce you to a thrilling place. The Kung Fu Walrus and sea lions give up weapons for the passionate dances, like the youth carrying dreams, striving for the championship of the Avenue of Stars" with all their performance skills, their tamers acting as their assistants in fashionable costumes and accessories. Unlike conventional animal shows, in the new version of the Kung Fu Walrus", sea lions will show up first, giving a performance of dizzying high flips, water ballet, fierce NBA shots, and dance. The best of all is their playing with a ball in the water, jolting and butting heads repeatedly; the singing of sea lions convulses audiences with laughter. Then comes the Kung Fu Walrus . With the tender care of its female tamer, it will perform Kung Fu, such as Tathagata Buddha's Palm and the Mighty Hercules, and sit-ups, blowing balloons and playing the harmonica. What s more, its mimetic Michael Jackson dance is unique nationwide.

Bird-Singing Woods
The performance of the Peacock Flying to the Southeast was created by Dalian people and has been favored by tourists since its debut on May 1, 1994. It has become one of the Three Best Shows at Dalian Tiger Beach Ocean Park and has spread through the whole nation as well as Japan. After nearly 16 years of updating and changing, some new elements were added, including more kinds of birds: guinea fowls, turkeys and mallards. Their performance has brought tourists much pleasure and enjoyment. In addition, the red ibises, bearing the nickname Bird of Fire , have naturally incubated a few chicks to fill a gap in the breeding of the red ibis north of the Yellow River in China. During the two festivals, people will have the chance to see the adult red ibis.
