As one of the major activities of Shiptec China, the seminar on investment in shipbuilding & supporting industries of Changxing Island Harbor Industrial Zone was held yesterday in Xinghai Bay. Relevant persons from the Administrative Committee of Changxing Island, STX and the Dalian Marine Equipment Industry Park briefed the participants on the development of Changxing Island s marine equipment industry. Nearly 200 shipbuilding & supporting enterprises participated in the seminar, and the project of the Dalian Marine Equipment Industry Park has drawn great attention from participants. About 100 enterprises will be invited to Industrial Area II of the Dalian Marine Equipment Industry Park within 3 years to build a green ecological park with a complete marine equipment industry.
It is learned from the seminar that the Dalian Marine Equipment Industry Park is the first project of this kind in Changxing Island, with a total planning area of about 1,000 hectares. It consists of three areas: Industrial Area I, Industrial Area II, and the Services Area, with a total planning area of about 929.46 hectares, mainly for four categories of supporting industry: marine mechanical and electrical equipment, marine communication & navigation, marine equipment logistics, and intermediate supporting products. Industrial Area I takes up an area of 110.48 hectares with two functional sections: one for production services and the other for small/medium ship supports, mainly engaging in marine equipment, ship outfitting items and ship materials. At present, more than 30 enterprises have already entered Area I. Industrial Area II is located in Jiaoliu Island Harbor Industrial Zone with a total area of 642.91 hectares; it is the central hub of all the industrial areas in Changxing Island and the focus of the development of the park. It consists of 4 industrial patterns: large steel structure manufacturing, large marine equipment manufacturing, mechanical processing, and mechanical-electronic-instrument support and forms a complete production chain. So far, about 30 enterprises have signed agreements for the settlement, and all the investment is planned for completion within 3 years.
