Changchun Foreign Language Website Delegation Visits Little Rock

At the invitation of the Little Rock Sister Cities Commission, a 3-member delegation of Changchun Foreign Affairs Office Website of & Official Foreign Language Website of Changchun City (hereinafter referred to as Changchun Foreign Language Website) visited Little Rock from September 23 to 25, 2010. The delegation was warmly welcomed and given extraordinary hospitality by the Little Rock Government and the Little Rock Sister Cities Commission.

The two sides had pragmatic exchange of ideas and discussions on e-government construction and cooperation on the afternoon of September 24, 2010. Mr. Mark Stodola, Mayor of Little Rock City, and Mr.Steve Michell, Chairman of Little Rock Sister Cities Commission, Mrs. Linda W. Brown, Liaison of the Commission to Changchun, Mr.

Gary Newton, Executive Vice President at Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Mrs. Meg Matthews, Public Relations Manager of Little Rock as well as other officials including Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Asia Project Manager Mark Hame of Arkansas Economic Development Commission attended the meeting.

The report on the work situation of Changchun Foreign Language Website, and its intent of carrying out international cooperation were given positive response and highly praised by Mayor Mark Stodola and other attendants. The two sides exchanged ideas on jointly opening and developing the sister city friendship columns, and signed a friendly cooperation agreement amid friendly atmosphere.

During their stay in Little Rock, the delegation also visited the Government Website of Little Rock, Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, Art and Culture Center and other places.

The visit has offered a chance for Changchun to learn the successful experience from Little Rock in e-government affairs. It has also deepened the friendship between the two cities and made the intent of opening the platform of Changchun-Little Rock and Little Rock-Changchun columns a reality, which is of great importance to the internationalized construction of Changchun Foreign Language Website. This platform will offer the people in Changchun such information as Friendly Exchanges between the Two Cities, Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, Convention and Exhibition, Tourism, Dining and Lodging. And at the same, the people in Little Rock will know more about the past, the present and the future of Changchun as well as other information on investment environment, international cooperation projects, education, culture, art and tourism and so on. This new exchange and cooperation platform is due to open in November this year.
