Temple fairs of Ditan and Longtan in Dongcheng District closed as the Chinese Spring Festival is drawing to an end without any emergency cases having to do with foreigners or foreign affairs. Statistics show that the number of foreign visitors to the temple fairs amounted to about 5,000, over that of previous years.

The 26th Ditan Temple Fair and the 28th Longtan Temple Fair, well known in Beijing for its authentic folk customs and traditional folk characteristics, generated greater interest of foreigners and journalists from overseas media. During the temple fair, the two temple fairs were reported by over 60 journalists of 30 overseas media from 14 countries and regions respectively.

They are very interested in the arrangement of the temple fairs, performances, Chinese-symbol of the time and people s feeling about the Chinese New Year. They believed the Ditan and Longtan Temple Fairs were full of rich cultural activities and with good order and sanitation, especially the good service of receiving overseas media was very satisfactory to them.
