Wukong is here, Wukong is here! , French national, Shan Wukong of Nanchizi Community Practice-base Teaching Team arrived in the district amidst the warm welcome of the community. As a member of the community in the district, Shan Wukong teaches the residents English every Friday.
Wukong s method of teaching the English language is by engaging in daily conversations. It s like a club, with all of us gathered together. Shan Wukong is also very good at Chinese, he will explain in Chinese whenever it s necessary due to everybody s limited vocabulary.
According to Chen Da Chun, the representative and team leader of Dongcheng District, Nanchizi Community Learning Team, the community is home to residents of more than 20 countries and mother tongues of various languages, such as English, French, Bahasa Indonesia, etc. Shan Wukong works as a translator and he spends half his time living in Nanchizi, so we invited him to teach everybody English and he s very happy . An hour s lesson is about to come to an end. Wukong gave everybody homework and requested that everybody has got to prepare some sentences when they go back, so that when they start the next lesson, they can proceed with the practice.
When everybody was clapping their hands thanking Wukong, he clasped his hands together in a Chinese-style tribute in return.
