Dragon Boat Cultural Festival about to open

The Dragon Boat Race of Xicheng district was held on Shichahai Sea. Out of the fifteen district units, five were selected to represent Xicheng district in the Beijing Dragon Boat on June 14th.

The Dragon Boat Race is one of the cultural activities of Dragon Boat Festival. On June the 12th, the opening ceremony of the first Dragon Boat Cultural Festival in Xicheng district will be held at the Temple of Ancient Monarchs. During the festival, a series of related activities will be carried out, including the exhibition of the non-material cultural heritage skills, the exhibition of unearthed porcelain pieces, appraisal meeting of cultural relics, the Folk Heritage seminars of Dragon Boat Festival, experts lectures on cultural relics, picture exhibition on non-material cultural heritage projects and picture exhibition on Folk Heritage of Dragon Boat Festival.
During the five days of the cultural festival, a rice dumpling wrapping contest and two special performance of comic dialogues and Huangmei opera will also be held along with the Dragon Boat Race and boating activities.
