Relations between IBI and INZ to be Cemented

Accompanied by Ms. Heidi Chan, investment manager of greater china rerion of Investment New Zealand (INZ), Mr. Jonathan Watt, trade commissioner of New Zealand embassy, visited Invest Beijing International (IBI) on Oct. 11, 2006, and both parties exchanged views on issues of common concern.

Mr. Watt briefed on the successful achievements of New Zealand embassy and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise on improving the international business collaboration, and the commercial development between New Zealand and China. Ms. Chan introduced Investment New Zealand, and gave an overview of the collaboration projects between New Zealand and Chinese companies in areas of information communication technology, bio technology, ship building, food industry and agriculture.

Mr. Watt indicated that, currently the potential cooperation areas between New Zealand and Chinese companies include agriculture, forestry, farming, fishing and film making. He also showed great interest in the development of creative industry of Beijing.

Through this visit, mutual understanding were enhanced. It has laid a solid foundation for the further exchanges of information and visits in the future.
