GDUFS to Open Further in 2010

March 7-There s an old saying that goes, the whole year's work depends on a good start in spring". Following in this spirit, ameeting to prepare for GDUFS's new academic year was held on March 4th, hosted by CPC Secretary Xu Zhenhua. In attendance were GDUFS administrators, board members, cadre, deputies in People's Congress, and CPPCC National Committee members.

During the meeting, President Sui pointed out, the guiding thoughts of our school's development follows the principles of the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee and the 17th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party.Therefore, the orientation of GDUFS is to be a comprehensive research university with international features.

President Sui presented a report on GDUFS's capability and quality of education, skilled professionals, reforms of the school system, and school conditions. He highlighted that the year 2010 is at the close of the 11th Five-Year Plan for following the government's plan on higher education.He added that the 11th plan should be nicely sewn up and that the new five-year should be drawn up adequately.The new plan should take into consideration the South and North campuses, the implementation of the National 211 Project for higher education, and applications for master and doctoral programs.

CPC Secretary Xu approved the new academic year's arrangements of GDUFS. He required the faculties to tailor their work to increase efficiency. He also encouraged the faculties to enrich their websites. He hoped that the staff and students would be able to feel a sense of homecoming and togetherness at GDUFS.
