SCUT Vice President PENG Xinyi met the guests Dr. Gene Fuh delivering an academic lecture on DB2

On the afternoon of April 22, IBM DB2 (Global) general manager Mr. Rick Bowers and its technical director Dr. Gene Fuh paid a visit to SCUT South Campus. SCUT Vice President PENG Xinyi warmly welcomed the guests. The two parties conducted a discussion on issues such as DB2 database course construction, SCUT students and teachers visiting IBM Silicon valley research and development center for academic and research exchanges, etc.

Responsible personnel from the School of Computer Science and Engineering and School of Software attended the discussion as well. Later, Dr. Gene Fuh delivered an academic lecture on "Autonomic Computing in DB2 for z/OS".

Dr. Gene Fuh, known as an outstanding engineer of IBM and the senior technical director of IBM Silicon valley laboratory, is mainly responsible for the provision of the most advanced data search techniques for DB2 for z/OS so as to meet various demands of key task database application.
