SCUT holds original symphony concerts

In honor of the 67th anniversary of Comrade MAO Zengdong's publication of "Talks at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Arts" and the 40th anniversary of educated urban young people started working in the countryside, the School of Arts held two wonderful symphony concerts respectively in Concert Hall of SCUT South Campus on May 22 and Xinghai Concert Hall on May 25. President LI Yuan, Vice President DU Xiaoming, ZHANG Zhengang and PENG Xinyi were present at the concerts and enjoyed the feast of art.

At the concert held on South Campus, Prof. XIAN Xinyi of Yale University was appointed as honorary professor of SCUT and President LI Yuanyuan awarded the appointment letter to him.

It is known that all the music works played at the concerts were composed either by alumni HUO Dongling or by members from the School of Arts. The university's youth symphony orchestra performed the concerts under the conduct of the school dean HE Ping.
