China Southern Airlines "10 Cents" Care Fund donates 1 million yuan to SCUT

On July 7, the donation ceremony of China Southern Airlines "10 Cents" Care Fund for SCUT students was held at the Lecture Hall of SCUT Shaw Building of Science. LI Wenxin, secretary of leading Party group of China Southern Airlines, ZHANG Zifang, secretary of the Party committee, WANG Yingjun, SCUT chairman, together with relevant personnel and aided students were present at the ceremony.

It is known that China Southern Airlines "10 Cents" Care Fund was registered at Ministry of Civil Affairs in 2005 with an initial foundation of 20 million yuan. The total money raised each year comes to 6 million yuan by extracting 10 cents from each ticket into the fund according to the yearly passenger number.

The fund is mainly used in education support, impoverished aid, disaster relief, epidemic cure, etc. "10 Cents" Care Fund was launched in SCUT in 2005 with a yearly donation of 0.2 million yuan to extend financial help to outstanding students from impoverished families. Up to now, 0.6 million yuan has been donated to 300 impoverished students in SCUT.

This time China Southern Airlines signed a donation contract with SCUT with a total fund of 1 million yuan in the future five years.
