On Dec 7, the Purdue group led by Prof. CAI Liping, paid a visit to SCUT and discussed interschool cooperation with SCUT President LI Yuanyuan.

President Li thought that SCUT and Purdue share something in common in school philosophy and education system, and hoped that the two parties start cooperation in exploring the new fields and setting up distinctive projects. The guests from Purdue University including Prof. Cai, deputy dean of School of Consumer and Home Economics Science, Prof.

Rabi Mohtar, director of the global engineering projects, Prof. Greg Hundley, director of international business education and research center, and Prof. John Lumkes from School of Engineering, introduced the university as well as their distinctive projects and expressed strong desire to cooperate with SCUT.

It is reported that the cooperation between SCUT and Purdue was initiated in 2005. Prof. Cai, formaer deputy dean of School of Tourism and Hotel Management, was employed as lecture professor of SCUT One-hundred Talent Project, who turned to be the first foreign expert settling on the South Campus. Cai has devoted himself to his work and made remarkable achievements.

He also worked hard on the cooperation between the two universities. On this visit, Cai has led Purdue professors and experts in the fields of mechanical engineering and business administration in the hope of promoting cooperation between the two universities in the relevant fields.
