On the afternoon of May 13, the SCUT 2008-2009 commendation meeting of student affairs work was held at the gymnasium on north campus. Vice-president ZHANG Zhen-gang presided over the meeting.

The meeting kicked off in the solemn national anthem. DU Xiaoming, executive vice-president, read out "Decision on the commendation of the excellent classes and individuals of the academic year 2008-2009" and "Decision on the commendation of the extracurricular academic & technological innovative achievements made by SCUT students of year 2009".

LIU Qijin, vice-president, read out "Decision on the commendation of the excellent units and individuals of Youth League Committee of year 2010". WANG Yingjun, chairperson of University Affairs Committee, and LI Yuanyuan, president of SCUT presented medals and certificates to the award winners.

At the meeting, WANG Yingjun delivered a speech to the attending teachers and students. On behalf of the university leaders, she extended her greetings to students and teachers who are working on student affairs, and congratulated the award winners. She emphasized that talents training is the cardinal task of higher education and student affairs is the eternal theme of university management.
On the sequent report meeting, five students, respectively from School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, School of Software, School of Business Administration, School of Law, and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, made a report on their excellent working.
