On the morning of May 17, a three-member delegation of University of Electro-Communications (UEC), Japan, led by KAJITANI Makoto, its president, visited SCUT. President LI Yuanyuan and vice-president ZHU Min met the guests at Conference Room 3.
President LI Yuanyuan extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and gave the guests a general introduction of SCUT, including discipline construction, talent training and regulation establishment. He hoped that wider range of cooperation between the two parties can be achieved in fields like exchange of teachers and students, postgraduate study abroad program and so on.
It is reported that University of Electro-Communications, founded in 1918, is a national university in Japan specializing in fields like electronic engineering, communication, robot, integrated circuit, laser and so on. Substantial cooperation between SCUT and UEC has been achieved in "Super-mini Robots System Development and Mini Automation Manufacturing Engineering". Moreover, in May, 2009, the two parties signed an agreement for long-term bilateral cooperation.
After the conference, the UEC delegation visited School of Automation Science and Engineering, School of Electronic and Information Engineering, laboratory of School of Computer Science & Engineering and South Campus of SCUT.
