The exotic Fashion Show The inviting African food

On April 24, the 1st SCUT Africa Culture Festival kicked off on South Campus of SCUT. The strong beat of African drums, the radiating passion of African dances and the intoxication of African students have animated SCUT campus. African students from School of International Education and other schools on North Campus gathered together with Chinese students.

Publicizing Division of Party Committee, School of International Education and dozens of College Communities have sent representatives to this event. The event was co-hosted by SCUT Students Press Corps and School of International Education.

With the theme of "friendship", this event constitutes 7 sections of activities, including the opening ceremony, Sino-Africa friendly football match, Sino-Africa basketball match and Africa gourmet festival etc.

According to statistics, China has now received about 30,000 students from 50 African countries. The number of African students in SCUT ranks number one in Guangzhou universities, which also accounts for the largest among the total foreign students in SCUT. They really want to be the envoy and transmitter of Sino-Africa cultural exchanges.

A teacher in charge in School of International Education said to the reporters, "we are hoping that the 1st Africa Culture Festival will broaden students' vision and our students will receive African culture with a bigger heart and more open mind, thus building a long-lasting friendship with African students.
