On September 16, the mobilization meeting for Asian Games volunteers, as well as volunteer training program, was held in South China University of Technology (SCUT).
During the ceremony, the leaders dressed the volunteer representatives with colorful scarves which symbolized the spirit of service and promise, and encouraged them to acquire specific knowledge of the Asian Games and cooperate with the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC).

According to the principals of Youth League Committee (YLC), the recruitment and training of the Asian Games volunteers has been generally completed in SCUT. There are 1032 professional volunteers and 3221 common volunteers, of whom 300 are key personnel. They will be serving in four stadiums, namely, Tianhe stadium, Guangdong Olympic Sports Center, SCUT stadiums in Higher Education Mega Center (HEMC) and SCUT gymnasium in HEMC.

Services like reception, translation, media communication and audience guidance will be offered by these volunteers. Apart from these, 500 city volunteers have also been recruited, of whom 59 have already been on service.
