On Dec. 5, 2010, the day of the 25th International Volunteer Day, the Central Committee of the Communist Young League hosted the 8th Awarding Ceremony for Chinese Young Volunteers and the 3rd general assembly of Chinese Young Volunteer Association at Beijing. SCUT Youth Committee League was awarded two prizes, of which SCUT Young Volunteer Guidance Center won the prize of Excellent Organization Unit, and ZHOU Yu, a postgraduate from School of Business Administration, won the prize of Excellent Individual of Chinese Young Volunteer.

Established in 2008, SCUT Young Volunteer Guidance Center has been working under the guidance of the volunteerism of dedication, fraternity, synergism and progress with a task to enhance the service spirit of general students, achieving excellent effects in voluntary work. At present, the Guidance Center has set up such distinctive programs as Volunteer Program for the West, Vacation Survey, Canton Fair Volunteer, Spring Festival Transportation Volunteer and Metro Volunteer etc.
In the just-ending Guangzhou Asian Games and Para Games, the Young Volunteer Guidance Center had taken charge of the recruitment work, volunteer training and logistic support.
