On Dec 15, the rewarding ceremony of "Wisdom from the East- 2010 Chinese Cultural Figures" was held in Nanjing Great Hall of the People. Known as "the father of China Pavilion", academician HE Jingtang, dean of School of Architecture and Architectural Design and Research institute of SCUT, was awarded the prize of "2010 Chinese Cultural Figure" and "Culture Cup".
Co-organized by Chinese Culture Promotion Society, People's Government in Nanjing and Hong Kong-based Phoenix satellite television, this annual event aims to pay tribute to elites in Chinese culture. This year is the second year this event being held, 11 people, including ZHOU Youguang, father of Chinese phonetic alphabet, and HE Jingtang, are rewarded.
