7 level-1 discipline doctoral degree programs and 6 level-1 discipline master degree programs approved

According to the notice recently released by the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council, SCUT has 7 level-1 discipline doctoral degree programs and 6 level-1 discipline master degree programs got approved. Therefore, the number of level-1 discipline doctoral degree program at SCUT increases to 21 from 14, adding law, mathematics, chemistry, biology, computer science and technology, traffic and transportation engineering, and business administration; the number of level-1 discipline master degree program increases to 36 from 30, adding applied economics, pedagogics, science of physical culture and sports, journalism and communication, art theory and hydraulic engineering.

On the whole, the total number of doctoral program at SCUT increases to 110 from 73, and master's program to 204 from 176.
