To cope with the forthcoming transportation during the Spring Festival, SCUT organized over 70 volunteers to serve at Guangzhou Railway Station from Jan. 19 to Feb. 2 under the arrangement of Guangdong Provincial Communist Youth League Committee.

It is learned that all the volunteers consisted of most of students from Pearl River Delta and some other students who would spend their winter vacation at school. Wearing green uniforms, the 70 or so volunteers set off for Guangzhou Railway Station to begin their work before dawn. At noon, they even did not have time to take a short nap.

They had to go on providing services to passengers after finishing lunch in a rush. They worked almost 12 hours every day, from 8:30 to 20:30. Though the volunteer work was very hard, all the volunteers worked optimistically all along. They expressed that it was true that the volunteer work was very hard with challenges emerging at any point of the day, but it was well worth because they received great mental satisfaction.

Though they also missed their family, they felt warm inside seeing hundreds of thousands of passengers returning home.

The outstanding performance of SCUT volunteers won praises both from passengers and the railway department. Their moving stories were reported by GZTV, Guangzhou Daily and Southern Metropolis Daily, etc.
