Ms. Goli Ameri, Assistant Secretary of U.S. Visiting Jinan University

On the morning of September 19th, Ms. Goli Ameri, Assistant Secretary, Bureau for Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States, and Thomas A. Farrell, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs, accompanied by Mr. Robert Paladino, Consul for Public Affairs of Guangzhou, visited Jinan University.
President Hu Jun warmly received Ms. Goli Ameri, and introduced to her the history, development and international exchange and cooperation of Jinan University. Later, Ms. Ameri had a Town Hall meeting with the subject on Education in U.S. with students and teachers of the Department of International Relations. As an Iranian-American, Ms. Ameri compared Iran and America in aspects of education in brief, and shared her understanding of the meaning of education in America.
A heated discussion followed the speech which mainly focused on topics of American culture, foreign students studying in the U.S., and Hollywood movies.
