Being invited, Fulbright Scholar Prof. Steven J. Balla from George Washington University visited Jinan on December 4th and 5th, and gave two lectures to the students and faculty of the Department of Public Administration. He lectured on The 2008 United States presidential election and transition to a new administration and The politics of disaster management in the United States--lessons from Hurricane Katrina, the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and the preparation for an avian influenza pandemic respectively and had heated discussions with faculty and students.

Dr. Balla shared with teachers and students present the insights into and the prediction of the management of U.S. government after the presidential election and the emergency management policy of the United States. The lectures are intellectually inspiring and audiences are enthusiastically involved.
